Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our bodies were created to give birth, and we see better outcomes when moms are an active and informed part of the process. Birth was not meant to happen to us but rather through us.

The more a woman feels educated and supported as she begins her labor journey, the better the physical and emotional outcomes. She needs to know that she has options all along the way so she feels like she is in the driver's seat of the process and can make thoughtful, educated decisions that produce healthy outcomes.

    1. It is never too early to start creating healthy sleep habits for your baby. Our goal is to help you avoid official "sleep training" by establishing patterns from the very beginning. Like most adults, babies crave routine.

    2. We encourage healthy rhythms or patterns, not rigid structures. These rhythms allow your baby to take in the bulk of their food during the day and sleep good stretches at night. When healthy routines and self soothing skills are established early, babies often begin to sleep through the night on their own with simple, minor adjustments needed along the way as they approach new stages of development.

    3. As a parent, your instinct and input matters! You're with your baby more than anyone else and you likely know more than you think about how they're communicating with you. We're here to provide practical tools and to partner with you in this journey.

    4. The Baby Ninja model works best when there is collaboration and consistency. It’s important that everyone is on the same page (you, your Baby Ninja, and any other childcare support including nannies, grandparents, etc.)

  • Creating a routine for your newborn benefits the whole family, allowing families to quickly understand their babies' needs. You'll know when they're hungry or tired or just fussy. Babies need more sleep than most people realize, and good stretches of sleep helps with weight gain and overall disposition. It also allows you to plan around their needs, understanding how important it is to create some predictable patterns that can be translated whether you are in or out of the home.
